"Helping our Leaders of Tomorrow"

 S. Delois Mayes Scholarship Foundation

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD
The 2018 Community Leadership Award will be presented to Pastor Vincent Wade Daniels and Estelle Daniels of Berean Community Church in Norfolk, Virginia.  Berean Community Church is a small ministry with a huge presence.  This extraordinary duo has faithfully given back to the Hampton Roads Community through outstanding leadership and philanthropy, directly impacting the Norfolk community.  Over the last five years, they have purchased and delivered food to the homeless and opened their Food Pantry monthly to the public to assist families in need.  They host an Annual Back-to-School Community Day Outreach event where they provide book bags and school supplies for kids K-12th grade.  During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, they host an annual holiday food drive where they provide meals for needy families.  They partner with Crossroads Elementary School and Richard Bowling Elementary School during the year and sponsor an annual Toy Giveaway for Pre-K classes during Christmas.  The Daniels have dedicated their lives to helping others.  They exemplify the spirit of leadership and commitment to community service.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniels will accept the Community Leadership Award during our Fifth Annual MLK, Jr. Day Benefit Brunch.
